What is an Ear Infection?
Ear infections occurs in two places: in the ear canal and in the middle ear. Ear infections can be acute which are deemed short term ear infections. Chronic ear infections are ongoing and can cause permanent damage to the inner and middle ear.
Signs and Symptoms of ear Infections
- Having an inflamed eardrum
- Ear Pain and dulled hearing
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Young babies may be hot and irritable
Causes of Ear Infection
Esutachian tubes are tubes that run from the back of your throat to your ears. When the estachian tube becomes blocked fluid builds up and this causes an ear infections. This can be caused by:
- Smoking
- Infected adenois
- Colds
- Sinus infections
- Allergies
- Excess mucus
Other external factors that cause ear infections:
- Pacifier
- Change of altitude
- Change of climate
- Illness
Treatment of Ear Infections using Castor Oil
- Castor oil is a good remedy for earaches.
- Take a cotton ball and dip it into castor oil than put into the infected ear. This will clear the infection up.
- You can also use seasame oil with castor oil and put the mixture around the ears from relief
- Basil is also effective in treating ear infections. Mix in basil oil and castor oil together for an effective remedy. Pour the mixture onto the cotton ball and smear it around the ear, behind the ear and inside the ear. Do this twice daily.
