Castor Oil and Orange Juice

Castor oil is made from the seeds of the castor oil plant. It is a pale yellow liquid and is used in the production of many everyday products that we use such as soaps, wax, paints, etc. Aside from being used for making such products, castor oil has also been used an herbal remedy to cure many different kinds of health problems. It has been as natural medicine since many years and has been traced back to Egyptian and Roman Empires. Castor oil is known for its many benefits such as:

1.    Castor oil and Orange juice for Constipation:
Castor oil is commonly used to treat constipation for people of all ages. Parents even prefer to treat their baby’s constipation problem with the help of castor oil instead of science based medicines. The remedy which has been proved to be very effective for curing constipation is the combination of castor oil and orange juice. Both of these ingredient’s properties help stabilize the digestive system. There are some castor oil and orange juice recipes that have helped people suffering from constipation.
The following recipe will help relieve constipation:
•    1 Cup Orange juice
•    1 Tablespoon Castor oil
Mix the two ingredients together well and drink immediately before the oil settle under the juice.
Castor oil can also be taken simply without anything else but the taste of this oil is quite nauseating and often people are not able to drink it. Orange juice is then used to reduce the bitter taste of the oil and also acts as an agent to soothe constipation.

2.    Castor oil and Orange juice to induce Labor:
Castor oil is used amongst women to induce and ease labor. It has been used by women since a very long time and is effective in most cases. Some women do face side effects such as nausea or diarrhea but this is quite rare. If you have experienced these side effects after having castor oil before, it would be better not to use castor oil to induce labor. Consuming castor oil all by itself may also increase the chances of you facing these side effects an so, it is better to mix it with a stomach soothing agent such as orange juice.

Also, orange juice is used to make the baby active and to lessen the taste of castor oil.
The recipe for the most common remedy used to induce labor is given below:
•    1 tablespoon of Castor Oil
•    4 ounces of Orange Juice
Mix these two ingredients together and drink it slowly. The mixture works when you have started dilating as castor oil boosts the dilation process.
